Overview
Barbarons is a shallow, ledgy left that breaks over live coral, tucked just south of Le Meridien resort. Keep going down the coast and you'll find a few decent reefbreaks, though they sit sheltered and break only on extremely rare occasions.
When It Works
Barbarons draws its swell from south through southwest (S-SW), with a southwest (SW) swell the best match for lining up this left-hand reef. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, so there's a wide window of sizes that get it going. Consistency is moderate, meaning it won't fire every day but delivers worthwhile sessions when the swell lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northeast (NE) offshore wind to clean up the face. The reef can work through most of the tide, from low to mid to high, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a left-hander that suits intermediate surfers comfortable on a shallow coral reef. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's working.
Access
Barbarons is not publicly accessible, and parking nearby is restricted.
