Overview
Bayah Reef is a rarely ridden left that breaks over an uneven patch of reef, tucked in behind the eastern headland. That headland doubles as a handy vantage point for checking the wave before you paddle out. It is a fairly ordinary setup, and a large rivermouth nearby can push dirty water through the lineup after heavy rain.
When It Works
The reef pulls in swell from south through west, with west swell the best match. It works from 1.2 m / 4 ft to 3 m / 10 ft and tends to be moderately consistent, so you will find worthwhile windows even though it will not fire every day.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast offshore wind to clean it up, and you get some shelter from southeast wind here too. The reef can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. Expect a fairly quiet lineup when it is working.
