Overview
Brava is a pocket beachbreak with a wilderness feel, and reaching it means a walk in. The waves break over sand and peel off as both lefts and rights. It's a good place for less confident surfers to escape the crowds at nearby Maresia, though the waves here can be almost as hostile.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from southwest through southeast, with south swell the best match. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft and is moderately consistent. Much of the time you'll find dumpy, short close-outs, but at each end of the pocket beach they can line up into something better.
Wind and Tide
Look for north offshore wind, which lines up with a straight south swell for the spot's best combination. It can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The waves suit intermediate surfers, and you can expect a fairly quiet lineup.
Access
Getting in involves a walk to the beach, where there's camping on hand. Parking is restricted.
