Overview
Brawa Beach is a beach break just down the coast from Canggu, where rocky reefs anchor the sand and give the waves some shape. Between here and Canggu it is mostly slop and shoredump, but this stretch pulls together some nice rights and a few lefts, so there is a proper wave to ride when the sand and swell line up.
When It Works
Brawa draws swell from south to west (S-W), with southwest (SW) the direction that matches the reef best. It is usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 2.6 m / 9 ft, covering everything from small, mellow days up to a good deal of size. The reef-anchored sand shapes up rights and, at high tide, a few lefts as well.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind to clean up the faces. The break works across low, mid, and high tide, and both a rising and a falling tide can come good, but low tide is the pick.
Local Tips
This is a friendly, beginner-suited wave, and the lineup stays quieter than Canggu just up the coast.
Access
There is free parking, with roadside spots to leave the car. Keep in mind the road in is a long detour if you are coming from Kuta.
