Old Mans is located at the southern edge of the Canggu stretch and is quite popular among longboarders and SUP riders. The surf here is generally friendly, with waves that can reach up to head high (about 2.5 meters) and typically break to the right and left. The best swell direction is from the southwest, but it can also handle swells coming from the south and west. Most days, you’ll find the waves are a bit fat, especially on low tide when they can get messy. However, it can still handle some decent sets, which will feather out nicely. The optimal conditions occur with a northeast wind and the tide can be good at low, mid, and high, making it pretty versatile for all skill levels, including beginners.
