Buma is the closest surf spot to Nago City, with two fun peaks that break both left and right over live coral. Jimmy's sits nearby too, a mutant peak that draws kamikaze bodyboarders, so it is worth knowing which one you are looking at before you paddle out.
When It Works
Swell arrives from west to northwest (W-NW), and the spot is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. It can be somewhat inconsistent, so it pays to watch for the windows when the swell lines up properly rather than expecting waves on any given day.
Wind and Tide
Look for north (N) offshore wind to clean things up. Buma works around mid and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Best suited to intermediate surfers who are comfortable over live coral. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it turns on.
Access
Parking is easy enough to sort out, with a car park offering free parking, paid options, and roadside spaces nearby.
