Overview
Cadavedo is a very sheltered, east-facing beachbreak that breaks over sand, tucked below pristine hinterland with notably clean water. Wave quality is average overall, and alongside the beachbreak there's some right-hand reefbreak on offer.
When It Works
This is a spot for the big days. It comes into its own on huge swells and stormy conditions, which also means it isn't the most consistent option. It draws swell from northwest to north, with northwest swell the best match, and works from 1.2 m / 4 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. Expect both lefts and rights across the bank.
Wind and Tide
Look for a southwest offshore wind. The break works at low and mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Cadavedo suits expert surfers best. The lineup is rarely crowded, so you'll usually have plenty of room when it's on.
Access
There's free parking at the spot, and you'll find camping nearby in the small village of Cadavedo.
