Overview
Cala Agulla is a sandy beach break that peels both left and right. It has a shifting personality, turning crumbly and hollow on the same wave, so expect variety rather than a predictable shape.
When It Works
The catch here is a narrow swell window. Cala Agulla only fires on northeast swells, which makes it inconsistent overall. It draws swell from north to northeast, with northeast (NE) the best match. The break is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for south (S) offshore wind. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. The lineup stays quiet, so you're unlikely to be jostling for waves when it turns on.
Access
Take care in the water, as the currents here are very dangerous and there's a lifeguard only during summer. On land you'll find a car park with free parking, plus camping close by.
