Overview
Double Dome is a left-hand reef break named after the twin-domed mosque in Supu village. The lefts peel down an angled reef and run in toward the town, giving a mellow wall that suits surfers still finding their feet.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from north to east, and it comes together best on a northeast swell lining straight into the angled reef. Waves break over an uneven bottom, so expect a slightly shifting takeoff. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, covering everything from a gentle knee-high roll to a solid overhead day. Consistency is moderate, so it won't be on every day, but the windows are worth timing.
Wind and Tide
Look for a southwest offshore wind to clean up the faces. The reef works across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a beginner-friendly wave, and the lineup tends to stay fairly quiet. Locals ride it on village-shaped wooden planks, so you'll likely have plenty of room to yourself.
Access
Double Dome sits by Supu village. Most visitors reach it by making the long overland trip from Tobelo.
