Overview
Dunaverty is a rare beachbreak that breaks over sand and throws up both lefts and rights. It only comes to life in the right setup, so it rewards patience more than a regular session.
When It Works
Dunaverty needs a big northwest swell or an Irish Sea windswell to get going. It takes swell from southwest to northwest (SW-NW) and is usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. When it does break, expect close-outs at low tide that become more makeable as the tide fills in.
Wind and Tide
This is an exposed break that is often onshore, so timing the wind matters. Look for a north (N) offshore wind to clean it up. It surfs best around mid tide, and a rising tide is generally the better call.

There is camping close by in Southend if you want to stay near the break.
