Overview
Four Rocks is a rare beachbreak tucked into a coastline otherwise made of coral reefs, reached by the "Down Along" road that runs right along the water. It breaks over sand and offers both lefts and rights, while offshore reefs sitting outside filter down the size and power before the swell reaches the beach.
When It Works
Four Rocks draws swell from north through east-northeast to southeast, and it lines up best on a northeast swell. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, and consistency is moderate, so expect worthwhile windows rather than waves every day.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest offshore wind. The bank works through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
With the offshore reefs taking the sting out of incoming swell, this is a forgiving, beginner-friendly wave. Expect a fairly quiet lineup when it's on.
Access
Parking is free and roadside, right off the road that follows the shore.
