Frégate Island is a private-island break where swell wraps into the harbour jetties and the surrounding reefs, giving them the potential for small, clean, near-perfect waves. It breaks over dead coral and peels both left and right.
When It Works
The jetties and reefs pull in swell from southeast to south (SE-S). It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, so you want swell in that window to get it going.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind to clean it up. It can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Access
Frégate Island is privately owned, and the surf is reserved exclusively for guests staying on the island, at around $2000 per night.
