Fuera de la Bajeta surf guide

Fuera de la Bajeta is a surf spot located near Punta del Altagay, known for its outside reef that features lots of mossy rocks. This spot is more suited for experienced surfers due to the heavy water conditions. It's a place where the surf can get pretty exciting, especially during larger swells. The waves can run down the point past some swimming pools and hotels, creating a unique surf backdrop.

The surf here is mainly right-breaking, and it needs a solid overhead swell coming from the North-East (NE) to really get going. It can handle swell sizes up to about 6 feet (1.8 meters), and is also known to work with swells from the North-West (NW) and North (N). The best time to paddle out is during low, mid, or high tides, so you have a bit of flexibility depending on your schedule. It’s important to note that you should aim for winds coming from the East as this sets up the conditions nicely for a good ride.

When you’re out there, be mindful of the uneven reef as it can make for a tricky session, especially for those who aren’t used to this kind of environment. The outside reef offers an excellent long righthander when the conditions align, so if you’re an expert surfer looking for a challenge, this could be your spot. Just keep an eye on the swell and tide to catch the best waves.
