Overview
Harbour Jetties in Visakhapatnam is a reef setup with a wide choice of peaks breaking over uneven reef, throwing up both lefts and rights. The pick of the bunch is the south side of Dolphin Nose, though the serious pollution here is enough to put many surfers off.
When It Works
The spot draws swell from southwest through north to northeast (SW-N-NE) and is usable from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft. Consistency sits on the lower side, so it can be somewhat inconsistent and pays to time your session for when it's actually breaking.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest offshore wind to clean up the faces. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. Crowds stay quiet, so you'll usually find plenty of room in the lineup.
