Yarada is a long beach break below the Dolphin Nose lookout, working over sand with both lefts and rights on offer. The wave is punchy but tends to close out, so it pays to wait for the right stage of tide. Keep an eye out for scattered rocks further out on the point.
When It Works
Yarada takes swell from southwest through north to northeast, and it comes into its own on a southeast (SE) swell. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, giving a decent range before it turns too small or too big. Expect moderately consistent surf rather than something that fires every day.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind to clean it up. It breaks on mid and high tide with a rising tide the better call, and because the beach closes out easily, high tide is the more reliable choice.
