Overview
Hawaiizinho, also known as Praia do Havaizinho, is a long stretch of beachbreak that gives you an alternative to the crowded points nearby. Waves peel both left and right over a mix of uneven reef and sand, with the nicest peaks forming in the rocky corner. The empty beach runs all the way up to Barra do Rio Curu.
When It Works
The break draws swell from northwest through north to east (NW-N-E), and it comes together best on a northeast swell. It is usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Don't expect it every session, though, since it is somewhat inconsistent and not the most reliable break in town, but it rewards you when the setup lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest offshore wind to clean it up. It fires on mid to high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one is a good fit for intermediate surfers. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it is working, and count on more company on weekends whenever it is breaking.
Access
There is a car park with free parking, plus roadside parking if you prefer to pull up close.
