Overview
Hemorrhoids is a left-hand reef break that breaks over an uneven rock bottom. With enough water covering the rocks it can throw up rapid-fire walls and the occasional barrel. Be aware that the water quality here is dubious.
When It Works
The reef pulls in swell from the south through to the west (S-W), and a south swell is the best match. It's usable from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft, and with only moderate consistency you'll want to catch it on the right day rather than count on it.
Wind and Tide
Look for an east offshore wind. The reef prefers plenty of water over the rocks, so it comes into its own at mid and high tide, with a rising tide the better call.
Local Tips
The left suits intermediate surfers, but expect a busy lineup, with plenty of surfers coming from the nearby resort and beyond. There can also be a bit of attitude in the water.
