Injou is a sheltered reef break that stays glassy more often than not, usually peeling as a long right-hand wall over a mix of boulders and sand. When it gets big out of the east it will also break left, giving you a rangier peak on the bigger days. It sits along a pretty beach near the Masuda space launch site and a large golf course. Keep an eye on the rocks along the shallow inside.
When It Works
The break draws swell from northeast through southeast, with east swell the best match. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, so there's a decent window between too small and too big to play with. Consistency is moderate, meaning it won't be firing every day, but it delivers worthwhile sessions when the swell lines up.
Wind and Tide
The wind blows offshore from the west, and there's a broad workable wind window running all the way from south round to northwest, which is a big part of why it stays so clean. It breaks on mid and high tide, with a rising tide the better call.
Local Tips
Injou suits intermediate surfers, with that long right-hand wall giving you plenty to work with. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on.
