Overview
Itapeva is a sand-bottomed beach break stretched along a wide, open beach in Brazil, with peaks that peel both left and right. A tongue of rocks juts into the sea here, though it rarely does much to shape the waves.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from east through south (E-S), with an east swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Mornings are the pick, when the quieter peaks along the beach come to life on smaller swells. Overall it stays moderately consistent.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest offshore wind. The beach can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
