Izquierda de los Pescadores is a surf spot located on the east side of Las Palmas, near the fishing neighborhood of San Cristobal. It needs a strong east swell to deliver its best conditions. The access to this spot can be tricky, and getting in and out of the water is not the easiest due to the rocky jump-off points. With the right conditions, Izquierda de los Pescadores can offer a fun wave experience, but it's important to know what you’re getting into before you go.

This spot primarily serves left-hand waves and works best with swells coming from the east or northeast. It can handle swell sizes starting from about 2 feet (0.6 meters) and breaks over an uneven reef. When the tide is high, and with winds blowing from the west, you stand a better chance of catching those steep waves with whackable lips. It's most suitable for intermediate surfers who are comfortable dealing with the challenging access and the nature of the reef breaks.

While you’re out there, keep in mind that this break does deal with conditions that can vary quite a bit, so staying aware of the swell and tide can help you score some decent rides. Also, don’t forget there’s a right-hand wave available up at the harbor if you want to mix it up a little after riding the lefts at Izquierda de los Pescadores.
