Overview
El Lloret is a good-quality right-hand pointbreak that peels down the boulders for up to 200 m. You'll find it as the last spot at the far left end of Las Canteras beach, and there's a fine left pointbreak across the channel too. Water quality has improved a lot since the old fish factory disappeared, though you'll usually still turn up some rubbish among the rocks.
When It Works
The wall runs fast and punchy, and it needs a solid, overhead swell to switch on. It draws swell from west through north (W-N), with west (W) swell the best match. Expect it to work from 1.8 m / 6 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for a south (S) offshore wind. It comes to life on low and mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. The lineup is often crowded and carries some localism, so a dawn patrol is the smart move.
