Overview
Kerloch, also known as Kerloc'h, is a mellow beachbreak that peels both left and right over sand. Big winter swells are what really light it up, and when they land you can link long rides with proper cutback walls. The break is visible from the road, so it's easy to size up before you paddle out. Keep in mind that the currents run towards the take-off zone.
When It Works
Kerloch comes alive on large winter swells. It draws swell from southwest to northwest (SW-NW), with northwest (NW) the best match, and works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Consistency is moderate, so it pays to time your session to the right swell. At high tide you'll also notice some backwash in the mix.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind for the cleanest faces. It stays surfable in west winds too, as long as you tuck into the north corner. The wave breaks through mid and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The forgiving, mellow nature of the break makes it a friendly option for beginners. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's working.

There's free roadside parking, and the spot sits in plain view of the road.
