Overview
La Passe is a right-hand reef break that peels over dead coral, tucked into a gap in the reef a little further north, before Anse Royale. It suits intermediate surfers and is more of a rare treat than a reliable session.
When It Works
La Passe is inconsistent, but it can turn on beautifully when the setup lines up. It draws swell from southeast through south, with south swell the best match. The wave works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, so there is scope from smaller days through to solid overhead surf, and its better sessions tend to come on a southeast swell.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest offshore wind to groom it. It breaks across low, mid, and high tide, but a rising tide is generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an intermediate-level wave over shallow coral, best for surfers confident in that setting. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it is working.
