Overview
Livorno - Bagni Fiume is a fun reef break that peels both left and right over an uneven reef, with the right-hander the pick of the two. The water here stays clean.
When It Works
It draws swell from southwest through west, and a southwest (SW) swell is the best match. Those SW swells need to arrive without onshore wind for it to fire. The reef is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northeast (NE) offshore wind to clean things up. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. The lineup is rarely crowded, so you can usually find room to spread out.
Access
You'll find it south of Livorno harbour, close to the Accademia Navale. There's a mix of metered and roadside parking nearby. A webcam at bagniitalia.it/webcam lets you check it before you go, and the local shops Spin Out and Hoasy Surf are close at hand.
