Manglecito is a long, fast left that peels over an uneven reef point. The peak is shallow and heavy before the wave walls out into the bay, and when it's on it's a real blast.
When It Works
Manglecito draws swell from northwest through north, with northwest (NW) the best direction, and it comes alive on an overhead pulse. It's usable from 1.2 m / 4 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft. Consistency is moderate, so it pays to be ready when the right window lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast (SE) offshore wind. Manglecito breaks across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an expert-level wave, and it demands experience once it gets bigger. The lineup stays fairly quiet. If you want another option, there's a consistent A-frame at Manglecito Reef just to the north.
Access
Manglecito is boat access only, sitting about 15 km northeast of Puerto Baquerizo.
