Overview
One Mile Beach is a sand-bottom beach break in Forster, a dependable swell-catcher that usually serves up an A-frame peak somewhere along its sub-mile stretch, breaking both left and right.
When It Works
Very consistent, the bank draws swell from northeast through east-southeast to south (NE-ESE-S), with northeast (NE) the best match. It favors headhigh, peaky east swells and works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, though it doesn't handle too much size.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind, but the beach stays workable across a broad window running from west through to northeast. It surfs through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a friendly, beginner-suited peak and a good spot to find an easy A-frame. Expect a busy lineup when it's on.
Access
All the facilities are clustered around the surf club, and parking is easy, with a car park offering free parking alongside paid and roadside options.
