Overview
Pelle á Tarte is a shallow, powerful reef break that sits a short walk or a 15-minute paddle from the neighbouring setup. It runs much shallower and more punchy than its neighbour, throwing a hollow but makeable right alongside a death-defying left that only a handful of bodyboarders dare to take on.
When It Works
The wave breaks over an uneven reef and draws swell from north through east, with northeast (NE) swell the best match. It is usable from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 3 m / 10 ft and stays moderately consistent, so rideable windows turn up fairly often without being an everyday certainty.
Wind and Tide
Look for south (S) offshore wind to groom it. The reef can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an expert-only wave. The shallow reef and that dangerous left keep it out of reach for most surfers, and the lineup tends to stay fairly quiet even when it turns on.
Access
Parking nearby is restricted, so plan where you leave the car before heading down.
