Overview
Plage Blanche is a remote sand-bottom beach break on Morocco's southern coast, and it earns its name as the "white beach." It runs for more than 50 km with rarely another surfer in sight, throwing up peaks that peel both left and right.
When It Works
The beach stays open to a wide band of swell, drawing anything from southwest to north (SW-N). It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft, so it sits in the small-to-medium range and rewards patience when a clean pulse lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast (SE) offshore wind to groom the faces. The beach can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The peaks here suit intermediate surfers, and with kilometres of empty coastline there is endless room to spread out and find a quiet peak of your own.
Access
Getting here is a proper mission. It is best reached from Goulimine, though there is a more southerly approach toward Aoreora's fort. Either way it means a long drive across semi-desert, so a 4x4 is essential.
