Overview
Plage des Nations is a sand-bottomed beachbreak, with peaks breaking both left and right.
When It Works
Plage des Nations is at its most consistent through summer, when small, peaky, broken-up swells serve up its cleanest waves. As the swell grows and lines up, it tends to close out. It picks up swell from west to north (W-N), with northwest (NW) the best match, and is usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for an east (E) offshore wind to clean up the faces. It works through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The lineup stays uncrowded, but strong currents are a constant here, so it best suits intermediate surfers who are comfortable holding their position in moving water.
