Overview
Playa Jondal is a long pebble beach on Ibiza where the waves break over sand, throwing up both lefts and rights. It delivers average waves after strong south winds, but it can pack a bit more juice than the beachbreaks in the north of the island.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from southwest through southeast, with south swell the best match — fitting, since the waves here tend to show up after strong south winds. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, so it can handle a decent range of days once something is running.
Wind and Tide
Look for north offshore wind to clean things up. The beach can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a good spot for beginners, and with very few surfers around, you can expect a quiet lineup and plenty of space to catch waves at your own pace.
Access
Getting here is easy outside the summer months, when both access and parking are straightforward. There's a car park with free parking, plus roadside parking as a backup.
