Rodo (Pantín) surf guide

Rodo, located in Pantín, is one of the most notable surf spots in Galicia. Known for its stunning beach and consistent waves, it attracts both locals and visitors throughout the year. The spot can get crowded, especially in the summer, when beachgoers and travelling surfers flock to the area. It’s a chill place with decent beach facilities and a camping vibe for those looking to stay nearby.

The surf at Rodo is pretty reliable, handling swells from the Northwest best, but it can also work with West and North swells. The waves come in at sizes up to about 3 feet (0.9 meters), offering both left and right peaks, so there’s something for everyone. It's known for its beach breaks and can produce some solid barrels. The best times to catch waves here are during low to mid tides, and it can also be surfed during high tide if conditions are right. While it’s mainly suited for experienced surfers, the waves can be a lot of fun when the swell is on point. Just be mindful of strong rips, particularly at the northern end, which can make paddling out a bit challenging.

Overall, Rodo has a bit of localism, so it's good to show respect to the locals when you're out there. If you love to surf, this spot is worth checking out, especially when the swell is pumping and the conditions align. Just remember to be aware of the crowd and the water because it can get busy during the peak season.
