Overview
Rodo, better known as Pantín, is the most popular surf spot in Galicia and home to an annual pro contest. It's a sandy beach break with peaks that peel both left and right, and when it's on, spitting barrels are common.
When It Works
Pantín is ultra consistent and hoovers up west-northwest swell, drawing swell from west to north with northwest the best direction. It holds plenty of size, working from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 3 m / 10 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for south offshore wind. It's surfable across low, mid, and high tide, but comes into its own from low to mid on a rising tide.
Local Tips
This is an expert-level wave. Strong rips run through the bank, though there's a paddling channel at the northern end. Expect a busy lineup when it works, with some localism, plus plenty of beachgoers and travelling surfers through summer.
Access
There's free parking and good beach facilities, including showers, a lifeguard, and camping, alongside a relaxed carpark freecamp scene and clean water.
