Overview
Shipwrecks sits at the northern tip of the atoll, a sandy-bottom bay that peels both left and right. It's a beach break breaking over sand.
When It Works
The bay comes alive on winter north swells. It draws swell from west through north (W-N), with northwest (NW) the best match, and works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for south (S) offshore wind. Shipwrecks can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The sandy bottom makes this a good spot for beginners.
