T.O. Strand surf guide

T.O. Strand, located just north of Port Edward, is a surf spot that works best when there's a strong SouthWest groundswell combined with a light land breeze. It’s known for its powerful waves that break over a mix of rock ledge and sand, offering a unique surfing experience for those who know what they're doing.

The surf here is mainly right-handers, and it's a spot that really handles swell sizes around 4ft (about 1.2 meters). Ideal conditions occur with a SouthWest swell direction, but it can also work with some NorthEast swells. The waves can get fast and hollow, so it's definitely more suited for intermediate surfers. You’ll want to keep an eye on the wind as a NorthWest breeze is preferable, and it can break well at low, mid, or high tide.

If you're looking to branch out, there are other options nearby, like the left at Silver Beach or the righthander off the point at Glenmore, which can provide decent waves when T.O. Strand isn't firing. Overall, it’s a spot to check out if you're after a solid session.
