Overview
Twin Rocks is a coral reef break sitting an hour south on the tip of the island, with a chilled, laid-back atmosphere. It peels both left and right over live coral.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from northeast through southeast, with east swell the best match. It handles a broad size range and is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft. Consistency is moderate, so it pays to time your visit for when a suitable swell lines up rather than expecting waves on any given day.
Wind and Tide
Look for west offshore wind to groom the face. The reef comes alive on mid and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an intermediate-friendly wave, and the lineup stays fairly quiet with only a handful of local and visiting surfers around. The island is big and hides more spots, so it's worth hiring a boat in Virac to go exploring.
Access
Easy accommodation near the break makes it a comfortable base if you want to settle in and score it over a few days.
