Low to mid tide is usually the sweet spot, and while it can be surfed at high tide, the waves might not be as good. Just remember, although it's beginner-friendly, you'll want to be cautious as some days can feel quite sharky out there.

For a different option, check out Kaimansriver just a bit further east. It’s another spot that handles light winds and offers smaller swells. If you want to gauge the conditions before heading out to Wilderness, Dolphin Point Lookout is an excellent vantage point to monitor the swell.
