Yerbabuena surf guide

Yerbabuena is a point break that works best with a solid swell, especially from the NorthWest. It's a favorite spot for surfers looking for some fun waves, and while it can get busy, it's got its own vibe. The middle section tends to attract a lot of locals, so expect some company out there. The area has some strong currents, especially at high tide, so keep that in mind when you’re paddling out.

The surf here can get pretty good with the right conditions. You’ll find walled-up rights that can occasionally deliver a tube if the swell is pumping, handling sizes around 3ft (about 0.9 meters). While it’s not the most consistent point break, when it’s on, it can deliver fast sections over uneven reef. It's best suited for intermediate surfers, and you’ll want a North wind for optimal conditions. Low to mid tide works well, but you can also catch some decent waves at high tide.

Since it's a point break, the wave can get sectiony, so be prepared to pick your moment. Always pay attention to the crowd and respect the locals. Yerbabuena can definitely be a fun spot, but it can also vary, so don't expect perfection every time you head out.
