Amphitheatre surf guide

Amphitheatre is located in the Tabarka area and provides surfers a decent option for catching lefts, particularly on the Citée Larmel side. This spot works best when there’s a northwest wind, which helps create those rideable conditions. It’s a place where intermediate surfers can find some fun waves, but it’s not necessarily the top spot every surfer dreams of.

The waves here are mainly lefts, breaking over an uneven reef. The ideal swell direction is northwest, but it can also handle swells coming from the west or northeast. You’ll find that Amphitheatre works with swell sizes starting from 2 feet (about 0.6 meters) and goes up. For the best experience, aim to surf at low, mid, or high tide, and keep in mind that a southwest wind is preferable.

This spot isn’t overly crowded, which can be a plus. It’s a good place to practice and improve your skills, especially if you’re at an intermediate level. Just be prepared for varying conditions, as it can be a bit hit or miss depending on the day.
