La Tour is a long left-hand point near Cap d'Antibes, named after the broken tower that still stands in the water just offshore. It is probably the longest left in the Alpes Maritime, peeling over an uneven reef.
When It Works
The point draws swell from south through west, with south (S) swell the best match. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft, though at the smaller end the shallow reef makes for a rough, wipeout-prone ride. Consistency is on the lower side, so it takes the right swell to line up.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northeast (NE) offshore wind to clean it up. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call. When east winds are strong, Marina Baie des Anges is an option.
Local Tips
This is an intermediate wave, and the lineup gets busy when it works. Booties are advised for the reef.
