Los dos Hermanos is a bombie-style reef on the north coast, sitting just past Punta del Hidalgo. It catches all north swells and throws big, throaty barrels over an uneven reef. Both lefts and rights break here, but the rights are usually the better wave.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from northwest through northeast, with a north swell the best match. It needs a medium swell before it starts breaking properly, and it works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 4.6 m / 15 ft, holding its shape into some chunky size once it gets going.
Wind and Tide
Look for a south offshore wind. The wave comes in on high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a wave for expert surfers only. The local crowd can be intolerant of visitors, especially on busier winter weekends, so read the lineup carefully before paddling out.
Access
There is a car park with free parking, along with roadside parking.
