Overview
Otur is a sandy beach break with both lefts and rights, set in front of dunes and a valley on Spain's coast. Chalets sit behind the beach, and a busy bar keeps things lively in summer.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from west through north (W-N), with northwest (NW) swell the best match, and it works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. It's a good option when swells are small, so it can be worth a look on days that leave other spots underpowered.
Wind and Tide
Look for south (S) offshore wind, and if a southwest to west wind is blowing, the western end of the beach offers some shelter. The waves work on most tides, with a rising tide generally the better call, though the beach gets hollower as it drops toward low.
Local Tips
This is a wave for expert surfers, and the lineup is rarely crowded, so you'll often have plenty of space to yourself.
Access
There's free parking at the beach, plus camping nearby and a lifeguard on duty.
