The Berries surf guide

The Berries is a well-known surf spot located in Queensbury Bay. It’s famous for its right-hand point break that can really deliver when conditions are right. The vibe here is laid-back, making it a popular spot among surfers looking for a good session. Whether you're staying in a hotel or camping nearby, you'll find plenty of accommodation options close to the waves.

For surfing, The Berries works best with a southeast swell but can handle east and southwest swells too. The waves generally start to fire at around 2 feet (0.6 meters) and can get bigger. You'll find that the point break features throwing lips and barrels out back, which bend into some mellow shoulders on the inside. The preferable wind direction is northwest, as it helps keep the waves smooth. Tides don’t matter much here, as it’s good for low, mid, and high tides. It's also a spot where intermediate surfers can step up their game.

Overall, The Berries is pretty reliable, though it's best to check the conditions before heading out. The rocky ledge under the surf can make for some fun waves, but always be aware of the surroundings when you're in the water. Enjoy the ride!
