Titanzinho surf guide

Titanzinho is located next to the Muricipe terminal and is known as Fortaleza’s most consistent reef break. This spot can get pretty busy, especially since it’s in front of a large favela. You can expect some localism here, so it's good to be respectful. The scenery might be a bit mixed due to nearby harbor development, but the surf keeps many coming back.

The surf here offers rights that peel down the reef in an easterly-southeasterly direction, along with some wedgy lefts that break back toward the pocket beach and long jetty. It works best with a north swell and can handle swell sizes starting from about 2 feet (0.6 meters). The wave types include both reef and beach breaks, making it a little diverse. For the best surf experience, look for low to mid tide, and a southwesterly wind is ideal. This spot is suitable for intermediate surfers who are looking to improve their skills on some decent waves.

Keep an eye on the conditions since they can change quickly. If you plan to hit Titanzinho, make sure you check out the swells coming from the north and southeast, as those are the best for scoring fun sessions. Just be prepared for the crowds and be mindful of the locals.
