Overview
Titanzinho is Fortaleza's most consistent reefbreak, tucked next to the Muricipe terminal and fronting a large favela. It breaks over a mix of uneven reef and sand and offers up both rights and lefts. The rights run down the reef, while wedgy lefts peel back towards the pocket beach and the long jetty.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from north through east-northeast to southeast (N-ENE-SE), and a north (N) swell is the best match. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft and is moderately consistent, so expect worthwhile windows rather than waves every day.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest (SW) offshore wind to groom the faces. It works on low and mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Titanzinho suits intermediate surfers, but come ready for a very busy lineup and strong localism when it's firing.
Access
There's a car park with free parking alongside roadside spots. Worth knowing: the break is currently under threat from harbour development.
