Overview
Teris Point is a sheltered beach break with a few average banks over sand. It picks up both lefts and rights, and on swells running from the south through west the sandbars tend to line up into cleaner rights.
When It Works
The break draws swell from south through west, with southwest (SW) the best direction. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.5 m / 5 ft, so it comes alive on the smaller end of the scale.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind to groom the banks. It can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The mellow, average beachbreak waves make Teris Point a forgiving spot that suits beginners finding their feet.
